Before receiving a prosthetic from our program with Puspadi Bali, Eni had to travel more than a kilometer to school everyday without any mobility aids. Persistent and determined to receive an education like the other kids her age, but without anything to assist her movement, Eni used her one leg to jump step by step, the whole way to school.
In 2019, 12-year-old Eni traveled to Bali from Lombok with a group of people living with disabilities. A full day's journey, more than 7 hours by car and boat, was a small price to pay in order to access the free orthopedic care they could receive at our program with Puspadi Bali, but not on the island Lombok. The group traveled with excitement and anticipation for the new future that awaited them.
It only took one day for Eni to learn how to stand and walk with her new prosthetic after 12 long years without any mobility aids. With her Joshi prosthetic limb comes new hopes for the future - Eni can now walk, play, and easily go to school, just like she one day hoped she would.
