ALTSO Begins Accepting Donations in 40+ Cryptocurrencies

Industry charity A Leg To Stand On, known for its signature fundraiser Rocktoberfest, recognizes the opportunity crypto has created as a means of fulfilling its mission.

In the last decade cryptocurrency has changed the world. From El Salvador becoming the first country to make bitcoin legal tender, to the global market cap reaching $2.T, to The Soros Fund’s endorsement of bitcoin, one thing is certain: cryptocurrency is here to stay.

Donating crypto is one of the most tax efficient ways for donors to support ALTSO’s CoolKids. Learn more about the tax incentives of donating cryptocurrency or make a donation in over forty cryptocurrencies to provide a CoolKid with a life-changing treatment.

Rocktoberfest - one of the most unique, highly anticipated, and effective events in the financial sector - will host a myriad of donation vehicles including credit card, Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Crypto, Stock, Donor Advised Funds, a Silent Auction, Merchandise, and more!

"It is our honor to sponsor another year of Rocktoberfest," said Will DeRiso, Managing Director at KBW who began sponsoring the event in 2006. "We continue to be impressed by ALTSO's impact on thousands of children across the globe."

This year’s Rocktoberfest, featuring financial and related services industry bands from Chicago, New York and London, including Achieves Most, Acoustic Karma, ALTSO All Stars New York, ALTSO All Stars Chicago, ALTSO All Stars London, The Cause, Dimmerswitch, Euphoria, JAM Partners, Lee Betsill & Big Noise, Matt Scharpf, The N95s, Robbie Lain & Friends, The Simpletones, and The Warriors From Mars, will be live-streamed on October 21st at 7pm EDTRocktoberfest is free to attend so don’t forget to register!

"This is not just any party," said Shane Stiles, CEO of Gate39. "Our team, clients, and networks all love to come rock out with ALTSO each year - either in person or here virtually - because amidst a really fun time, we are also providing important and life-changing treatments to ALTSO's CoolKids."

Throughout the year, all fifteen bands have been raising critical funds and awareness of ALTSO’s mission. 106 million children live with untreated disabilities in the developing world, of whom 95% cannot afford even basic care. Without treatment, 90% will never attend school. ALTSO is on a mission to change that by providing free mobility care because mobility is more than movement - it is a human right.

"At the beginning of 2021, Barchart proudly formed Barchart Gives Back, a new initiative that supports philanthropic initiatives that are important to Barchart employees," said Mark Haraburda, CEO of Barchart. "We are proud and honored to join our industry friends in sponsoring ALTSO's Rocktoberfest events."

Event sponsors include Paysafe, The OCC, Bitstamp, CME Group, Back In the Game Therapy, Element Capital, Gate 39 Media, Jacobs Asset Management, KBW, Morgan Stanley, Sandler Capital, SteelEye, Wells Fargo, Barchart, CBOE, GlobeTax, Quanteam North America, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Wedbush, Wilshire Phoenix, and more!
