In the blink of an eye Devi became an orphan and an amputee; embarrassed and severely limited by her condition, Devi dropped out of school. The accident was the lowest point in her young life.   ![DSC_9250 2](https://thecommunity.altso.org/hs-fs/hubfs/DSC_9250%202.jpg?width=6000&name=DSC_9250%202.jpg)*CoolKid Devi during Program Director A.J.'s site visit in 2015. *   In 2013 Devi was discovered by community outreach workers at our program with Puspadi Bali in Indonesia and fit with her first prosthetic limb. We work with local programs for this very reason - they are best positioned to identify kids, like Devi, who are most in need of care but unable to afford it and unaware of the resources available to them.    Since that day Devi has regularly visited our program with Puspadi Bali to repair or replace her prosthetic leg as she grows.
