NEW YORK CITY - Thursday, August 26, 2021 - Industry charity A Leg To Stand On (ALTSO) is making its signature event series, Rocktoberfest, more accessible than ever this October. In light of the pandemic, the 19 year old event series went virtual in 2020, expanding reach from its historic in-person events held in New York, Chicago, & London to a live-stream concert hosting thousands of viewers from more than 24 countries across the globe.
This year’s Rocktoberfest event, set for October 21st, at 7pm EST is officially open for registration and will again feature a live-stream concert performed by bands made up of financial services professionals. In addition, the charity will give guests and sponsors the tools needed to host event watch parties, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to gather together within COVID-appropriate accommodations and individual comfort levels.
Attendees can tune in to the concert to enjoy interactive event elements including a virtual photobooth & GIF maker, live music-inspired trivia, a robust silent auction, real-time chat, and more. As always, event proceeds will provide free, high-quality prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs to children in the developing world.
Check out ALTSO’s newly released video highlighting the CoolKids they treat and featuring historic Rocktoberfest band, The Warriors From Mars' original song, “Mockingbird,” which will be included on a special compilation album to be released by A Leg To Stand On Music following the event (more details to come).
The Warriors From Mars will be one of more than a dozen industry bands performing in the event. “It has been incredible to watch ALTSO reimagine Rocktoberfest for a virtual platform,” said rhythm guitarist and lead vocals for the band, Justin Lepone. “We have been performing for ALTSO for eight years, and look forward to making 2021 another amazing event to help more of ALTSO’s CoolKids!”
Hopping up on the virtual stage next to The Warriors From Mars, other bands include The Cause, Dimmerswitch, The N95s, Acoustic Karma, Achieves Most, The Simpletones, Lee Betsill & Big Noise, JAM Partners, Euphoria, and all three of the ALTSO All Stars iterations from Chicago, New York, and London.
“When our team heard about Rocktoberfest, its history, and ALTSO’s impact, we were immediately drawn to get involved,” said Bobby Zaggota, CEO of Bitstamp USA, a first time event sponsor. “It’s an honor to be representing the crypto community at Rocktoberfest and we want to encourage other crypto focused companies to join us!”
Alongside Bitstamp, current lead event sponsors include Back In the Game Therapy, CME Group, Gate 39 Media, OCC, and Wells Fargo. Other corporate sponsors include Barchart, Cboe, Quanteam North America, Wilshire Phoenix, ABN AMRO Clearing, Belvedere Trading LLC, and more.
“OCC is thankful for the opportunity to support ALTSO’s Rocktoberfest event,” said John Davidson, CEO of OCC. “As an enthusiastic sponsor for the seventh consecutive year, we are proud to continue contributing to ALTSO’s vital mission of providing mobility to children in developing countries.”
