ALTSO started their celebrations Monday afternoon with C. Mead Wells, Co-Founder and Chairman of ALTSO, ringing The Closing Bell at NYSE alongside members of ALTSO’s staff, board, and Rocktoberfest musicians.
Mead Welles reflected on the milestone stating,“Over the past two decades, the remarkable generosity of our sponsors and advocates has enabled Rocktoberfest to make a profound impact on the lives of more than 22,000 children, their families, and their communities. We are thrilled to celebrate our 20th Anniversary of Rocktoberfest-NYC, reflecting on our life-changing achievements, and coming together to support those who are still awaiting critical mobility treatment."
At ALTSO’s Rocktoberfest this Thursday, attendees will enjoy an open bar, passed appetizers, dinner stations, and live music on two stages performed by leaders from the financial services industry. Rocktoberfest will also feature a Photo Booth, sponsored by SteelEye, and exclusive beverage tastings in the VIP Room for sponsors and musicians.
Beverage sponsors include, FIOL, Harmony Gin, Hiatus Tequila, Hampton Water Rosé, Mount Gay Rum, Storica Wine, Widow Jane, and more!
Zack Armen, C-Founder of Armenian wine importer Storica Wine, shared, “We are thrilled to be part of ALTSO's milestone anniversary as first-time sponsors. At [Storica], we are deeply committed to making a meaningful difference, reflecting the country our wines are from – full of life and resiliency – much like ALTSO’s beneficiaries.”

Event proceeds will help ALTSO continue expanding their incredible impact. 9 out of 10 children living with disabilities in the developing world cannot afford the medical treatment they need. ALTSO currently operates programs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, Romania, Somaliland, and Uganda, helping to serve the world’s most vulnerable children.
Event attendees will have the opportunity to make a greater difference by participating in ALTSO’s signature fundraising campaign, GLOW. By donating to provide a specific mobility treatment -- a pair of crutches ($60), custom orthotic braces ($100), Joshi prosthetic limb ($250), or an appropriately fitted wheelchair ($500) – donors will receive a glowstick to light up the night. Mobility empowers ALTSO’s CoolKids with independence and opens the doors to education and future gainful employment.
