NEW YORK - September 29th, 2020 - While typically New York charity A Leg To Stand On (ALTSO) would be gearing up for three separate Rocktoberfest events in Chicago, New York, and London, this year’s pandemic has changed the scene, but most certainly has not stopped those passionate about the cause. Instead, ALTSO will host a global and entirely virtual Rocktoberfest event on October 22nd at 7pm EST. The event is open to the public to register to tune in and sponsorship packages are still available.
The annual event will continue to raise funds on behalf of the charity’s mission - providing free, high quality prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs to children in the developing world. ALTSO is extremely grateful and delighted to announce that 15 acts - all with members from the financial services industries - will perform music for the event which will be a concert style series of songs and highlights of ALTSO’s beneficiaries.
“We believe that it is important to show our employees, clients, consultants, and the greater industry what we value as a company and enjoy doing so by sponsoring ALTSO’s Rocktoberfest,” said Jean-Etienne RETAUREAU, CEO of Quanteam North America who has sponsored the event for five years in a row. “We are proud to support an organization that is fighting against the social stigmas of disability and look forward to this year’s inclusive event.”
Alongside Quanteam, event sponsors include Back in the Game Therapy, Bank of America, Belvedere Trading, Cboe, ED&F Man Capital, Element Capital, Eurex, Gate 39 Media, Intercontinental Exchange, Jones Lang LaSalle, Sandler Capital, Wilshire Phoenix and more.
For Richard Waltz, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Element Capital, sponsorship is just one side of Rocktoberfest. “ALTSO’s mission inspired us to play again after a several year hiatus,” he said of his band, Dimmerswitch, who did a Q&A with ALTSO last week. “Getting up on stage (or on screen this year) has been a highlight for each of us over the last several years. We love to play music together, we love to have a good time with our friends and colleagues, and we love doing it for ALTSO.”
Performers of ALTSO’s Rocktoberfest events play an integral role in fundraising for the event by bringing on sponsors and raising money for ALTSO’s CoolKids - the recipients of the charity’s mission who receive free, high quality prosthetic limbs, orthotic braces, and appropriately fitted wheelchairs. Check out ALTSO’s blog, The Community, for more band Q&A’s with the 15 bands who will be RockingForGood on October 22nd.
You too can support ALTSO’s mission of helping children with limb disabilities in the developing world.
